The RISE Project
Rossinver Integrated Social Enterprise (known as The RISE Project) was started by Rossinver Community Development Company in 2008 to address the social needs of the older community in North Leitrim. The RISE Project is based at the New Ballagh Centre and uses both staff and volunteers to deliver its vital services.
The RISE Project aims:
- To create services to support and maintain older people living within their own home and community for as long as possible.
- To create and offer support for older people, their families, carers and communities.
- To enable and empower older people, family members and their support networks.
- To achieve a level of ‘care in the community’ necessary to maintain a good quality of life.
The RISE project, while based in North Leitrim, is fully committed to working cohesively with organisations and policies at both a county and national level and also cross-border in West Fermanagh and Northern Ireland. The project is an active member of the Leitrim Older People’s Council which feeds directly into and guides the work of the County Leitrim Age Friendly Alliance. The RISE Project is particularly indebted to the amazing contribution of its volunteers.
