Choir of Ages
New Ballagh’s Choir of Ages
We are prodigiously proud of all our services at New Ballagh however, one of our stand-out achievements is the Choir of Ages.

How We Got Started
Late April 2017, Tyrone Productions came up with the concept of television programme about the forming of an intergenerational choir. As they wanted to show the contrast between urban and rural communities, they chose the New Ballagh Centre as we have an established and trusted relationship with older people. Recruiting others from the national schools in Rossinver and Kiltyclogher and also people from the Glens Centre in Manorhamilton, David Brophy, with the assistance of Dave Flynn, created New Ballagh’s Choir of Ages. Together with their Dublin Counterparts, they recorded a video of the Coldplay song ‘Fix You’.
How it is
Today the Choir of Ages is still going strong. Dave Flynn is our Choirmaster and twice a month, New Ballagh Centre is filled with song thanks to them. 25th Anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement
April 2023 marked the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement. The Good Friday Agreement finally brought peace to all parts of the island of Ireland. The Choir is funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade under the Reconciliation Fund and was honoured to be selected to highlight the success of both the Good Friday Agreement and the Reconciliation Fund.
