Terms and Conditions
These Terms apply to the website, accounts, bookings, training, community areas, messages, marketplace and related services operated by New Ballagh Centre, Tullyskearney, Rossinver, County Leitrim, Ireland. By creating an account or using a member feature, you agree to them. The Privacy Notice explains data processing and is not blanket consent.
Purpose, eligibility and accounts
The platform supports community information, events, courses, groups, communication and local marketplace activity. Provide accurate information, keep it updated, protect passwords and authentication codes, and report suspected compromise. Do not share accounts, impersonate anyone or bypass access controls. A responsible adult should assist where a person cannot validly agree or safely use the service independently.
Community participation and messaging
Follow the Community Standards. Recipients can read messages sent to them. Authorised administrators may access relevant messages where reasonably necessary for moderation, safeguarding, security, investigation or legal duties. Do not send unlawful, abusive or unnecessarily sensitive information. Use Report a Concern for inappropriate messages or behaviour.
Events, courses and attendance
Places may be limited and may require confirmation or payment. Follow the cancellation instructions shown. Dates, tutors, venues or availability may change where reasonably necessary. Attendance, payment status, progress and certificates may be recorded for delivery, funding, safety and administration. Specific conditions shown at booking also apply.
Marketplace
New Ballagh Centre provides the facility. It is normally neither buyer nor seller, does not own listed goods, and does not guarantee descriptions, identities, payment, collection or delivery. Users must check goods, agree terms and comply with law.
- Never share passwords or authentication codes.
- Avoid suspicious payment links and be cautious with financial information.
- Inspect goods where practical and use safe meeting or collection arrangements.
- Report suspicious accounts, listings or messages.
User content and intellectual property
You retain ownership and copyright in original content you create and upload. You grant New Ballagh Centre a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence for as long as reasonably needed to store, display, technically reproduce, process, back up and moderate that content solely to operate, protect and administer the service. You confirm that you have necessary rights and permissions, including for images and information about others. Website design, branding, software and Centre-created material remain with their respective rights holders.
Acceptable use
Do not post or facilitate harassment, bullying, threats, hate, discrimination, defamation, fraud, scams, spam, illegal or explicit material, copyright infringement, impersonation, unauthorised personal information, malicious code, access-control bypasses or unsafe marketplace conduct. Do not scrape, overload, disrupt or probe the platform without written authority.
Reporting, moderation and safeguarding
We may investigate and, acting reasonably, remove content, warn, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve relevant evidence, or refer matters to appropriate authorities. We cannot monitor every item or promise to resolve private disputes. Reports must be honest and in good faith. See Safeguarding & Online Safety.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and delete your account through Account Settings. We may restrict or end access for serious or repeated breaches, safety or security risks, legal requirements or platform closure. Where appropriate and safe, we will explain. Data handling after closure is described in the Privacy Notice.
Third-party services and availability
The platform relies on third-party infrastructure including Google Firebase and public content-delivery networks. Third-party links have their own terms. We aim for reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or permanent access.
Liability
To the fullest extent lawfully permitted, New Ballagh Centre is not liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss, user conduct, marketplace transactions, or information supplied by other users. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including fraud or personal injury caused by negligence, or limits mandatory consumer or statutory rights.
Privacy and changes
New Ballagh Centre is the Data Controller. See the Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy. We may update these Terms for legal, safety, service or operational reasons, communicate material changes reasonably and request fresh agreement where law requires it.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, subject to any mandatory statutory or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or displaced. The Irish courts have jurisdiction, without removing any mandatory right a consumer may have to bring proceedings elsewhere.
